We are thrilled to announce that Marc Robert will be delivering a plenary lecture on the next generation of CO2 electroreduction technologies through which renewable energy (e.g., solar) can be stored. At large scale, they could contribute to the development of a circular carbon economy.


In this lecture, Marc will present his team's latest advancements in designing molecular catalysts for highly selective CO2 conversion under photochemical, electrochemical, or combined conditions.

  • Precision Engineering: Discover how fine-tuning the metal center and the second- and third-coordination spheres of the ligand drives exceptional selectivity under combined photochemical and electrochemical conditions.

  • Comprehensive Output: An exploration of catalyst designs that produce the full range of C1 products (formaldehyde, methanol, methane) as well as complex C2+ molecules (sugars).

  • Scalability: A practical look at the engineering efforts required to transition these molecular systems from laboratory discoveries into scalable, large-scale CO2 electrolyzers.
