We are excited to announce the upcoming Oral Presentation by Emilien Chaigne on the design of benzodithiophene-based porous polymeric macroligands!
To advance the efficiency of photocatalytic CO₂ reduction, Emilien and his team synthesized Porous Organic Polymers (POPs) incorporating benzodithiophene (BDT) units. These unique structures are investigated as photosensitizing macroligands.
The mechanism relies on a brilliant synergy: the BDT-based scaffold acts as a robust light-harvesting platform, while metal centers anchored within the porous network serve as the specific catalytic sites for CO₂ conversion.
This donor-acceptor-based macroligand approach offers a highly versatile strategy for designing heterogeneous photocatalysts—successfully combining efficient visible-light absorption with tunable porosity to significantly enhance CO₂ photoreduction performance.
