How can we engineer highly efficient interfaces to drive biological CO₂ conversion?


We are excited to share that Alan Le Goff will be presenting his Keynote: "Engineering of the bio/nano-interface for enzymatic CO₂-to-CO conversion and the water-gas shift reaction."


To improve the efficiency and stability of supported enzymes, developing specialized enzyme-electrode interfaces is a critical first step. In this session, Alan will detail how his team combines these specialized interfaces with the high conductivity and vast electroactive area provided by carbon nanotubes.


By utilizing both covalent and noncovalent functionalization strategies, they have successfully enhanced enzyme wiring and overall stability. Ultimately, these breakthroughs have allowed for the seamless integration of stabilized metalloenzymes (CO dehydrogenases and hydrogenases) into gas-diffusion bioelectrolyzers, CO₂ reduction photocatalysis, and water-gas shift bioelectrochemical cells.
